Health Insurance Companies Declare War on You.

Last week PriceWaterhouseCoopers released a “study” commissioned by America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). This study has been widely de-bunked by a variety of sources, including the White House, Arthur Anderson (of Enron Fame) and most notably by PriceWaterhouseCoopers themselves. Keep in mind, the study referred not to any bill with a “public option” or “single payer” proposal, but to the “Baucus Bill”– which was itself actually written by AHIP.

The lobby’s purpose is to strengthen the dreaded “individual mandate;” a provision that forces all Americans to purchase health insurance without driving down costs or holding the industry to any humanitarian standards. They fully realize how unpopular the provision is, the whole idea after all is to make any bill so repugnant that no reform at all will be passed.

Ezra Klein of the Washington Post and Jonathan Cohn of New Republic both wrote absolutely excellent articles on this AHIP-sponsored “study,”. They imply that because the study is based on a blatant disregard for multiple facts, it must not reflect reality. Polls indicate that most Americans (between two-thirds and 3/4) favor some kind of reform, including 70% of doctors. The congress and the President were elected by those people and (in theory) were elected to do the will of the people.

If the representatives of the people pass any health reform at all, the average family policy WILL skyrocket. If you have a family policy and are currently paying about 13k a year, you will be paying 26k per year by 2019 if reform passes. These are AHIP’s own numbers; that is exactly what they told the American people last week. This means employers will fire workers because they can’t afford insurance for everyone, families will be forced to do without care because they can’t afford insurance, and the economy of the United States itself will be violently impacted at a time when its citizens can scarcely afford it.

For many years America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) have been fighting an undeclared war on US citizens. According to the Harvard Study cited recently by Alan Grayson (D-Fla.), lack of health insurance and denials of legitimate claims kill more Americans each month than died in the attacks on the World Trade Center.

When Al-Qaeda or Nazi Germany declared war on the United States, their intent was to kill US citizens and to cause economic collapse in the United States. That’s how a modern war works. The study released by PWC and commissioned by AHIP reveals the arsenal the Health Insurance companies plan to use in the coming war.

  • They are going to kill Americans by putting the price of health care out of reach.
  • They are planning to kill their paying customers by finding new ways to deny care.
  • They are planning to firebomb the US economy by making it nigh impossible for small businesses to hire any workers and by driving up national debts and deficits for the foreseeable future.
  • They are going to terrorize citizens (killing members of your family) and they are going to attack our economic base.

This isn’t personal. Health Insurance executives don’t do anything useful at all. They don’t perform surgery, see patients or change bedpans. The CEO of Aetna makes 24 million dollars a year, but he adds no value whatsoever to the system. Any astronomical cost incurred because of drug companies, hospitals or trial lawyers can be justified to some degree by a need for their services within the system. There is no such justification for insurance company executives, because all they really do is gamble on illness and death. If the American people ever realize that, the jig is up and AHIP will be put to death.

It’s them–or us. AHIP knows that already.

Now you know it too.
